Legal Status
CLAP is a
registered Non-governmental civil society organisation (popularly
referred as NGO or Voluntary Organisation in India). It is duly
constituted under the laws of India. At present it is recognised
under the following laws:

The Societies
Registration Act, 1860(Act XXI of 1860). It is registered on
18/11/1982.
-
Foreign
Contribution Regulation Act 1976 with permission to receive
foreign contribution, donations and grants from 1985.
-
12-A of Income
Tax Act 1961 and 80-G of Income Tax Act 1961: Individuals and
organisation making donation to CLAP can avail tax exemption
under 80-G of IT Act.
